Poley, Goldie, & Shortie (Bella's babies!) - 8 months old,

14 kilos each

Bella and her three surviving puppies have been our latest arrivals at Hoja. Initially named “Anabelle”, “Mirabelle”, and “Isabelle”, they responded more reliably to the call of “Puppies!”, from which descriptive names that loosely rhymed with “puppy” were derived - currently they each respond to their new names. There’s the long, gold-haired puppy Goldie (initially Mirabelle), the long, white-haired puppy - who sometimes looks like a polar bear - Poley (initially Isabelle), and the short, white- and golden-haired Shortie (initially Anabelle).

A cute, playful, and chaotic trio, these pups have physically and cognitively grown so much since they first arrived and don’t show any signs of stopping soon! Usually staying together in a pack of three, they love to hang around the kitchen, play in the main open space of the platform, and lay at our feet (and oftentimes, on our laps). They are super social, loving human attention and belly rubs as well as play time with the other dogs. While their enthusiasm to play is very cute, their teeth are sharp and they are still learning their play bite, which, like the others, they’ll hopefully learn as they continue playing with other pups.

Generally, they’re all very sociable, friendly, and playful with people and the other dogs. They’ve all been pampered by us and make great lap dogs, cuddle monsters, and playmates.

As far as each pup’s quirks: Shortie is most social and excitable with people (Goldie close behind), while Poley is the most reserved and chill (but still really warm and friendly!). Goldie is the most confident and independent out of the three - she's the trailblazer - she’s very physically capable, and she learns quickly from our other more adventurous dogs. Poley is the calmest and seems like she’ll be the biggest. We can see her being a lot like Negra - a great, loving family dog with a love for food. Shortie is a bundle of joy, energy and chomps - she’s a blend of Supai and Steve in that she can never get too much human attention, always has energy for play, and has cute and funny movement quirks (tail wags and butt shakes) when she does get attention!
