Negra - 4 years old, 22kg

This is our girl Negra. After rescuing a few of her puppies over the last three years we were finally able to get the mama herself, spay her, and provide her with a higher quality of life. Negra became one of the resident dogs at Hoja that we planned to keep forever! But after starting our wildlife center (almost 2 hours away) we never get to see her. Finding a forever home outside of the jungle, with consistent family, would be much better for Negra - she deserves that chance.

She’s a large, calm, and sweet companion around the Hoja ecolodge. She’s a true family dog and a vicious hunter… of hugs, cuddles, and wasps. Every time someone walks towards the hammocks, she jumps out of her seat to lie next to them, sometimes even trying to get right in with them (the perfect cuddler for cold nights)! She especially loves movie nights, snoring loudly on your chest, belly rubs and scratches, doing her patented “happy foot shake” to show her enjoyment, trying to catch any wasp or insect flying around her, and mealtime, where she will excitedly do some twirls with a big smile on her face as she receives her bowl. Negra is the mother of Chonky, Badonky and Freckle, and several other puppies who have passed through Pups from Peru in the past. And we are hoping she will get the same chance!
